I finally had a chance to read The Giver.
The ending (no spoilers)
I am going to start with how I felt about the ending: I liked it but didn't like it. Know how that feels. It was a happy ending, but I wanted more. I feel like it ended suddenly.
Overall
Overall the book was one of the most beautiful literary work I have read. There are so many underlying messages; it's so deep. I loved it!
Th language is easy. I didn't feel bored reading any part of it. The fact that the book is so tiny and contains that much wisdom makes it so interesting.
Do I recommend it?
